Get Your Vote On… Again

Whether you voted for Obama, McCain, or another presidential candidate, you can still have your say in how you think Obama should handle urban and technology policy once he’s in office. FrontSeat.org has created two new websites in which people can speak up and let Obama know what they think. Whether or not Obama and his advisors will listen is another story. We’ll just have to wait and see. But, the more voices, the more ruckus… and leaders pay attention to ruckus. So go get your vote on… again.

Absentee Political Involvement

So, today is Election Day and a lot of people are getting out and voting. I’m so glad that so many people are feeling the call to go to the polls today, especially with the level of apathy that we usually see on Election Day. But, does our all to duty end when the clock strikes midnight? Does our civic involvement begin on the morning of the first Tuesday of November, and end that same evening never to be seen again until the following year? Is our civic involvement like Santa Clause, or a New Year resolution? Are we present for one day only and absent the rest of the year?

I think it’s time to change that. I’m challenging myself to get more involved on a daily basis, and I’m challenging you to do the same. I’ve found three political action groups whose views are similar to my own and signed up to receive their news letters. I’ve also added their sites to my internet favorites folder and plan on visiting often to read what’s new. I also plan to join more letter writing campaigns, and political discussions.

What are you going to do?
